I really enjoyed and learned a lot on both Epistemology and Philosophy of Mind. I feel you gave me solid grounds to understand contemporary debates in Epistemology, to be able to construct arguments for and against numerous positions and to develop my own opinion on many of them. During Philosophy of Mind, you presented a difficult topic in a comprehensible and likeable way.
Please, do not scare future students right at the beginning of the academic year by telling them Epistemology is one of the most boring subjects. It proved false yet shaped the attitude of some of us.
Please, be more stringent and demanding. A failure to submit a paper in time, make a presentation, or meet requirements to pass the course means a problem for the student, not a (yet) new deadline. This is important for the feeling of justice and consequence for some of us and to motivate the rest.
Please, follow your own rules. Once you set a rule of four tests and a final exam, I expect to have two takes for each part (one on the test, second on the final exam if I had failed the test). It turned out I have only one take for the last part.
Please, be less politically correct. A test before or right after a break or holiday is nothing wrong.
I also had difficulty understanding students’ presentations. On one hand, it made all of us work harder and try to present a demanding paper, on the other, it seldom worked out comprehensible. However, I do not have a better solution in mind.
Thank you for letting us speak our minds and for being considerate and bearing even the most stupid questions. It was fun and we learned a lot.
